The top two teams in this season's ESEA MDL Europe have been found, 3DMAX and Virtus.pro. They will play the ESEA MDL Season 29 Grand Finals as well as the Global Challenge LAN.

Epsilon and 3DMAX were both underdogs in their ESEA MDL Season 29 quarter-final match, where they beat OpTic and ENCE, respectively. Their semi-final bout was a three-map ordeal, which started out on Overpass, Epsilon’s map pick. The European combine were able to win it, 16-13, to take the early lead in the series.

The second map, 3DMAX’s pick, went the way of the French-Belgian side, as they were able to win Dust2, 16-11, to even out the series and take it to the decider, Inferno. After an impressive 11-4 half on the Terrorist side, 3DMAX were able to close the match out despite a late comeback attempt by Epsilon, sealing their pass to the Global Challenge LAN.

The second semi-final was a Polish derby, featuring Virtus.pro and Kinguin going head to head for a spot at the Global Challenge LAN. The first map on the dock was Mirage, Virtus.pro’s pick. After a 6-9 half on the attacking side, Virtus.pro were able to close it out to take the lead into Kinguin’s pick, Nuke. The first half of the second map went the way of Wiktor "⁠TaZ⁠" Wojtas & co., who were then able to convert the second half, 16-5, to push it to the decider.

Cache then started going the way of Virtus.pro, who won the first half 10-5 and then took the second pistol round to make it 12-5. After increasing the lead to 14-5, Virtus.pro lost several rounds in a row as Kinguin tried to bring it back, but they were eventually able to close it in the last round, 16-14, qualifying for this season’s Global Challenge LAN.
